We are pleased to add a Permanent Part-Time Security Officer to our Team, who will be responsible for providing security, parking and operational support at Hamilton International Airport.

Your role as a Security Officer:

• Security: control and monitor access to restricted areas and assist airport tenants for security and operations related matters
• Regulatory Compliance: enforce Regulations for Aerodrome Security, Aerodrome Traffic, and Canadian Aviation Security
• Crisis Management: respond to airport related emergencies
• Customer Service: provide information and respond to inquiries from employees, tenants, and the public
• Administration: complete daily logs and incident reports

The skills you bring to the table:

• Communication: ability to translate complex technical information into an understandable format for varying audiences
• Organization: ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines, and adapt easily in a changing environment
• Technology: use of Microsoft Office applications; must be able to compile and analyze statistics using various databases
• Business relationships: have strong interpersonal skills, able to interact with all levels in a professional, positive manner, able to build trusting relationships and be a team player
• Judgement: assess situations quickly, be resourceful, problem-solve, and make logical decisions

Your success factors:

• Graduated grade 12 and hold a valid Security License
• Possess an Ontario Driver’s License Class G
• Ability to work in adverse conditions

Conditions of employment:

• Obtain Airport Security Clearance
• Obtain Radio License (ROC-A) and Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP)
• Work irregular hours and shift work
