HAMILTON, ON (November 19, 2018) – John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport is excited to launch a new refreshed feeling inside its terminal building. The Airport partnered with The Laundry Design Works, a local design firm from Hamilton, to introduce a revitalized look for the terminal that would reflect the growth happening both at North America’s Fastest Growing Airport – Hamilton International and throughout the City of Hamilton.
The makeover inside the terminal reinforces the brand identity of Hamilton International using a creative, impactful and cost-effective design. The Laundry achieved this by painting the walls using the bold colours of blue and green found in the Airport’s logo. These newly painted walls are the perfect backdrop for selfies as they feature travel quotes designed to excite and inspire passengers who are about to embark on their journeys from Hamilton. The photographic backdrops are visible throughout the Airport both pre and post security, with the goal to encourage passengers to take pictures of themselves in front of these backdrops before and after their flights.
The design, with its affordable approach, also allowed for the re-purposing of existing furniture, where passenger seating blends harmoniously with the refreshed surroundings. Rearranging the seating in the Departures Lounge and the gradient pattern in the new carpet acts as a subtle visual cue to help create better passenger flow towards the gates.
Finally, the all-new Kid’s Zone was re-located to the front of the Departures Lounge with a neat window view of arriving and departing aircraft. The Kid’s Zone sits atop of soft artificial turf and features new toys, games as well as a brand-new flat screen TV ensuring there’s something to entertain every young passenger inside Hamilton International.
The Airport is a gateway to adventure and discovery. The terminal’s refresh allows the Airport to stand out confidently and achieve a memorable experience for its valuable customers, which ties nicely to the vibrant growth happening in the exciting City of Hamilton.
