On September 18, 2013, John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport and City of Hamilton emergency response units will be conducting a live full-scale emergency exercise from 8 am “ 11 am at Hamilton International Airport.

Regular testing of the Airport’s Emergency Management Plan and training response personnel are integral to our emergency preparedness program and comply with Canadian Aviation Regulations. Scheduled flights at Hamilton International will not be affected while the exercise is taking place.

Those who live or work near the Airport may hear emergency vehicle sirens and see smoke at the Airport during the exercise. Law enforcement and fire rescue activity may also be seen in the area.

Agencies and partners who will be working with Hamilton International on this exercise include Purolator, Kelowna Flightcraft, NAV CANADA, Hamilton Paramedic Service, Hamilton Fire Department and Hamilton Police Services.

Hamilton International will remain open during the exercise and both Airport and Hamilton emergency response services will be available at all times should an actual incident occur.
