These measures include:
All persons entering the Airport must wear a face covering or non-medical mask at all times;
Only travellers and employees on duty are permitted to access the terminal building;
Persons entering the building are restricted to using a designated, one-way entrance;
Increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in high-traffic areas throughout the terminal;
Increased audio and visual messaging communicating health and safety reminders;
Installation of floor decals to encourage proper physical distancing in all queuing zones;
Installation of acrylic protective barriers at key communication points; and
Increased touchless hand sanitizing stations deployed throughout the Airport.
Proximity from Curb to Gate
Trying to reach your daily 10,000 step target? Unfortunately, your journey through Hamilton International won’t bring you much closer to your goal. On the plus side, you can get from the Airport curb to the boarding gate in approximately 200 steps. With so few steps in your airport journey, this leaves you extra time to grab your Double Double from Tim Hortons and purchase a new neck pillow from the Departures Retail Shop along the way.
Size and Maneuverability
Less levels, less hassle. From arrival to departure, you will breeze through your airport journey as check-in, screening, retail shopping, food vendors and the Departures Lounge are all steps away from one another. With physical distancing floor markers and one-way directional arrows installed throughout the terminal, travellers can move safely and confidently through each touchpoint with ease.
Sense of Place
There’s no place like home. Hamilton International strives to provide a ‘Sense of Place’ for all visitors by proudly incorporating elements true to the City of Hamilton, its culture and its ‘Welcome to Unstoppable’ theme through the Airport’s terminal décor and product offerings. Make sure you stop to take a selfie in front of the Hamilton cloud wall inspired by the signature sign at City Hall and pop by Detour YHM for some delicious old school café goodies, a specialty beverage from Detour Coffee Roasters or a Collective Arts craft beer.
As we look towards the accelerated pace of vaccine rollouts and lockdown restrictions being lifted across the country, Hamilton International remains committed to being ‘ready for every journey’ by prioritizing the health and safety of all travellers, business partners and employees.
