Navigating Pre-Board Screening Efficiently

The security screening checkpoint at Hamilton International is managed by the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA). Before you arrive, review the helpful tips below to know what to expect and help make your screening experience as seamless as possible.

Before you travel, be sure to check CATSA’s guidelines on what items are permitted in your carry-on and checked baggage, including restrictions on liquids, aerosols, gels and other prohibited or restricted items.

Travelling With Liquids, Non-Solid Food & Personal Items

Containers must be 100 ml/100 g or less and fit in one clear, resealable 1L plastic bag. Be prepared to remove the bag from your carry-on and place it in a bin for screening.

Screening Technology

CATSA uses a range of advanced screening technologies including full body scanners, walk-through metal detectors and computed tomography (CT) x-rays to ensure the safety and security of all travellers.
