NewLeaf Travel to provide ultra low cost flights from Hamilton International Airport
Domestic routes to begin this February

Hamilton, Ont. –  (January 6, 2016)

Today NewLeaf Travel announced it will begin non-stop service between Hamilton and Halifax, Kelowna, Winnipeg, Regina and Saskatoon.  Flights are scheduled to begin February 12, 2016, and will be operated in partnership with Flair Airlines.

“Today’s announcement by NewLeaf introduces a new segment of service into the Canadian market and is a game-changer for regional airports like Hamilton International,” said Frank Scremin, President & CEO, John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport. “Low-cost service will stimulate air travel demand, and create new choices for Hamilton International passengers.”

Hamilton International is situated approximately 60 minutes’ drive from both Toronto and Niagara Falls, providing easy access to two of Ontario’s primary tourist destinations, as well as direct access to one of the largest population bases in the country.

“We’re very excited NewLeaf has chosen to serve Southern Ontario from Hamilton International,” continued Scremin. “Strategically, we see Hamilton International as an airport well positioned to facilitate low-cost carrier service by providing efficient access to a large population base.  We regularly hear from our passengers, that they love flying from Hamilton but wish they could get to more destinations; we’re thrilled that with NewLeaf’s announcement today more people will be able to do so.”
